Bio

Hello. I’m Nadia. I’m 55 years old, and I have reached the part of life where I no longer pretend I won’t buy another basket.

I’m a full-time homemaker. My kids are mostly grown and doing their own lives now, so my home has become my main creative project: part sanctuary, part design experiment, part cat-run organization.

I’m warm, practical, and quietly eccentric. I like routines. I like small improvements. I like a room that feels lived-in, but not chaotic.

Posting style: short updates, small lists, side comments (like this), and occasional CAPITAL emphasis when something is truly urgent (like a missing remote).

The House Project

House report:

  • Warm lamps instead of overhead lights.
  • Plants in every room (some thriving, some negotiating).
  • Small art prints, thrift finds, and sentimental objects.
  • Storage that looks like decor (baskets, trays, shelves).

I like “organized eclectic.” The goal is comfort, not perfection.

A curated shelf with objects arranged neatly but with personality.

This is what I mean by “alive.” It’s tidy, but it has a story.

House Rules (Not Strict, Just… Official)

  • Things should have a place. (But not at the expense of joy.)
  • Overhead lights are only for emergencies and locating dropped earrings.
  • One small tidy corner counts as progress.
  • We do not argue with a cat who has chosen a spot. We adapt.

I call these “rules,” but really they’re just a gentle way of keeping the house calm.

Cats (Management)

Cat Committee structure

  • Chairperson: whoever is on the highest surface.
  • Security: the one who stares at the window like it’s a job.
  • Quality control: the one who inspects every new purchase.
  • Morale: the one who appears during bad days and sits nearby.

They behave like coworkers. I speak about them accordingly.

Decor & Declutter Philosophy

Decluttering

I love decluttering, but I don’t believe in strict minimalism. I like stuff. I just like it contained.

My favorite tools: baskets, labeled jars, trays, drawer dividers, shelves. If it can be categorized, I will attempt to do so.

Decluttering objective today: the mysterious drawer. (Again.)

Decor

My style is organized eclectic: warm lamps, layered pillows, plants, small art prints, and objects that feel like they’ve lived a life.

The house is meant to feel comfortable, not minimal or modern. I want it to feel like you can sit down without asking permission.

A room should look like a person lives there. Ideally, a person with good lighting.

Daily Rhythm

Typical day (simple, on purpose)

  • Morning coffee.
  • Feed the cats (mandatory).
  • Tidy one small area of the house.
  • Do a little project (often involving labels).
  • Watch a show while folding laundry.
  • Write a short update because I like documenting small wins.

Small projects are easier to love. Big projects make me lie down.

Relationship With the Internet

How I use it

I’m comfortable posting updates, uploading photos, and organizing pages. I’m not trying to be technical. I’m trying to make a cozy corner.

Sometimes I click something and the font changes again. I consider this part of the internet’s personality.

This site is static. No cookies, no tracking, no visitor logs. Just a place to point at a lamp and say: “Let me show you something I rearranged today.”

Why a website?

Because it’s nice to have a calm little place online that isn’t shouting.

And because I enjoy writing down household life the way some people write weather reports. Which I realize is unusual. But it keeps me company.

The house feels particularly peaceful today.
